The fifth installment of Pixar's beloved "Toy Story" animated franchise, set for release next year, has recently announced new additions to its voice cast: comedians Anna Faris and Conan O'Brien.
O'Brien notably posted a humorous video on Instagram complaining that he had initially vied for one of the lead roles, either Woody or Buzz Lightyear. However, he was told by Pixar that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were already committed to reprising their iconic roles, leaving him "very disappointed." Pixar later offered O'Brien the new character Smarty Pants, a role he ultimately accepted, claiming it was "even better" than Woody or Buzz.

The upcoming sequel will be co-directed by Andrew Stanton, known for the "Finding Nemo" franchise, and McKenna Harris, co-writer of "Luca." In addition to Faris and O'Brien, Ernie Hudson is also joining the voice cast. Hudson will take over the role of Combat Carl, previously voiced by the late Carl Weathers, who passed away last year. "Toy Story 5" is slated for release in 2027.
