Scarlett Johansson is not only joining the Jurassic universe, preparing for her starring role in the upcoming "Jurassic World: Rebirth", but she has also ventured behind the camera as a director. Her feature directorial debut, "Eleanor the Great," is participating in this year's Cannes Film Festival. During an interview with Deadline at the festival, Johansson was asked about the possibility of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to direct, a prospect she is clearly not opposed to.

Johansson stated, "I think the kind of big action films I like also involve human connection. Even when I was producing 'Black Widow,' I was involved in story development, in conceptualizing the story between Natasha and Yelena… I think there are ways to do it, ways to maintain human connection, family, and themes of frustration in big-budget films, and to execute them on a grand scale within a massive universe. These are themes that 'Eleanor the Great' also covers. There are many ways to approach it, so yes, I would definitely try to direct a big movie; it would be interesting."
As for Johansson reprising her role as Black Widow in the MCU, she has repeatedly denied such rumors, despite previous speculation that she would appear in "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Avengers: Secret Wars". However, it is common for Marvel actors to be secretive during promotional periods to protect plot details, so the definitive answer will only come with the films' official releases.
