"MindsEye," the new third-person narrative game developed under the leadership of a former Rockstar Games producer, was originally slated for release next month. However, recent preview builds have stumbled badly, drawing overwhelmingly negative initial reactions from both the community and media. Some testers have even stated outright that the game "simply isn't ready."

"MindsEye" was initially seen as a potential successor to the spirit of "Grand Theft Auto," largely due to its development team comprising multiple former Rockstar developers. However, according to online reviews and tester feedback, the game is currently plagued with numerous bugs, leading to a chaotic overall experience. While a day-one patch is expected, the sheer volume of current errors appears to far exceed its corrective capacity.
Another major issue is the subpar quality of the core gameplay. Enemy AI is described as clunky and unresponsive, making the primarily shooting-based gameplay lack challenge. The driving system, despite its significant role, has been called "stiff and unnatural," resulting in chase sequences devoid of tension and an overall experience far below expectations.

Although "MindsEye" is officially positioned as a linear narrative game, its design incorporates a confusing "pseudo-open world" feel. Several testers noted that this unclear direction makes the game's identity awkward and disjointed.
Furthermore, the game's marketing efforts have been equally weak. There's a noticeable lack of substantial gameplay demonstrations and virtually no memorable trailers. Many players would likely not even be aware of its existence if not for the "former Rockstar team" branding.

Considering the widespread feedback, many critics and test players are urging the developers to delay the launch to prevent "MindsEye" from becoming another instance of a rushed, unfinished release. With only weeks remaining until its scheduled release, it remains to be seen whether the developers will heed these recommendations.
