Foxhound Squad
The Wilson Conscription Act was designed to combat the rampant corruption within the U.S. military and maintain its combat effectiveness. It drastically cut the bloated expenses and personnel of the old conscription system, ensuring a continuous supply of professional soldiers received the most advanced weapon technology support. This aligned with the interests of "large military-industrial corporations." Therefore, to distinguish them from the "Arctic Fox" units of the old system, the brand-new "Foxhound" designation was officially activated—a force funded by a large military-industrial consortium and possessing the characteristics of a private mercenary corps.
Judgment Day and the Rise of Veteran Pilots
In 2098, Judgment Day occurred! The Corruptors seized total control of human technology through information channels. The "Tyrant" mechs, which had been deployed in large numbers, were highly susceptible to this information-based invasion due to their advanced systems. A vast number of Tyrants had their controls usurped by the Corruptors. In response, Lockheed could only completely remove the artificial intelligence components from the mechs that had not yet left the factory, quickly deploying these stripped-down versions to the troops. What was once a mobile armor integrated with numerous combat and fire control assistance functions—so user-friendly that even a lightly trained rookie could pilot it effectively—was now transformed into a forbidden zone, untouchable by inexperienced novices.
Composition of the Foxhound Squad - MICHAT Coalition Mechanized Forces
As of now (2101), the Foxhound force consists of 19 official squads. The First Squad is considered an "Honorary Squad" or "Think Tank Squad." Individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Foxhound force are assigned to the "First Squad" and receive a special stipend. This includes scientists, military strategists, and more. The First Squad can be seen as the "Headquarters" and "Hall of Fame" of the Foxhound force, with its operations and maintenance funded by a portion of the "defense tax." The remaining squads are all combat units. A lower numerical sequence indicates an earlier establishment, more extensive combat experience, and greater freedom in equipment selection. Each squad typically consists of one captain, two vice-captains, several pilots, and logistics/maintenance personnel with transport vehicles. In addition to the official squads, there are nearly a hundred more squads in the process of formation that have not yet been assessed or assigned a designation, but they are not considered to have integrated combat capabilities...
The main body stands at approximately 18 cm tall! The 3 mechs share the same basic body but feature exclusively designed shoulder armor, skirt armor, and knees. The differences are as follows: Butcher Type-2 Unit 01 "Standard Type." Accessories include an assault rifle, a short gun, a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher, and a massive "tower shield" reminiscent of the GP02. Butcher Type-2 Unit 02 "Melee Type." Accessories include a pair of detachable combat claws, a pair of "heat daggers," and two "offensive delay grenades" on the rear skirt armor. Butcher Type-2 Unit 03 "Breaker Type." Accessories include a heavy shock baton, a heat hawk, and a pair of spiked assault shields. Each is responsible for a different role: leading the charge, close-quarters combat, and fire support, respectively. They each come with different specialized weapons and armor, every piece meticulously color-separated and detailed with markings. They all come with connectors for mounting on the body, and the weapons of the three units can be interchanged.
The finished toys and models from mainland China today, in terms of both price and quality, are undeniably a direct threat to Japanese-produced brand toys... The Butcher Type-2 - Tyrant introduced today was actually featured on Toy TV before. Its appearance, and especially its price-to-performance ratio, has already crushed many competitors! And now, with this Excellence Grade release, you can get all three units for around 1,000 HKD. This will certainly and completely subvert the entire toy market's perception of die-cast finished toys!
If I were to compare it with similar toys, I would go straight to Bandai's Metal Robot Spirits. The Excellence Grade simply adds light-up effects, a magnetic base, and so on... The main body's sculpt and workmanship are exceptionally fine. In terms of QC, to be honest, it's genuinely better than Bandai's! The articulation is on par with Metal Robot Spirits, and the die-cast content is also generous. I'm not a die-cast fanatic, but if you are, feel free to add points for that! Furthermore, not only is the articulation outstanding, but the joint tightness is also very well-tuned, and the selection of weapons and interchangeable hands is incredibly rich. But the most terrifying aspect is, without a doubt, its price... A product costing just over 300 HKD has better quality than a Metal Robot Spirits that costs over a thousand... If we set aside factors like the IP, I simply cannot comprehend how they calculate their costs... The mystery gift box is the real main course! What secret weapon you get is all down to your luck! I believe Moshow will release more similar products in the future. And the crowdfunding for a special color version of Lancelot of the Lake has already been announced. As long as it's not some event exclusive, collecting them all won't impact my quality of life!
At this quality and price, I truly have nothing to criticize. This is a definite pick for the D.M.S. 2025 Top Ten Best Buys! Just look at the pictures for yourself; there's nothing more to add. I believe the Dragon of Echigo, the Overlord, and other Progenitor Effect mechs will soon be re-released in this Excellence Grade format. I'd happily pay another 100 HKD for them! Just you wait!
