Lionsgate has just released the first trailer for its new high-concept comedy film, "Good Fortune," starring Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, and Aziz Ansari. Ansari also wrote and directed the film, marking his feature directorial debut.
In the trailer, Keanu Reeves plays the angel Gabriel, who is bored with his celestial duties. Tasked only with preventing people from using their phones while driving, he yearns for a more meaningful mission. On a restaurant rooftop, he encounters a down-on-his-luck gig worker, Arj, played by Aziz Ansari. Gabriel claims to be an angel, but Arj dismisses him as a "guardian angel on a budget." When Seth Rogen's wealthy venture capitalist character, Jeff, appears, Gabriel decides to change both men's lives, leading to a series of comedic mishaps and unexpected adventures.
"Good Fortune" also features Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Cari Shayne. The film is slated for a North American theatrical release on October 17, 2025.
