Developed by Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, the highly customizable model kit series "HEXA GEAR", has announced its latest product, "V-THOR Airborne Assault Package 'Thunderstruck'", slated for release in November 2025.
Named after the thunder god, "V-THOR" is a commemorative product released by Kotobukiya to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the "HEXA GEAR" series. It features a bipedal humanoid structure, stands at an impressive 206mm tall, and boasts the highest range of articulation in the series to date. Its exterior armor adopts a skeletal, hollowed-out design, deliberately exposing internal artificial muscle details. It also incorporates double joints and interlocking armor mechanisms, allowing for natural high kicks, seiza (kneeling), and prone firing poses.
This new specification, "V-THOR Airborne Assault Package 'Thunderstruck'", is a modified version based on the previously released standard edition. It comes equipped with newly molded parts for its "Large Flight Unit" and "High-Velocity Multi-Barrel Machine Gun," among other armaments. The entire body's armor parts have also been replaced with deep blue, red, and orange molded colors.
When its wings are deployed, the Large Flight Unit reaches an impressive 33 cm in length. Not only can it be posed in various combat stances in conjunction with V-THOR's flexible articulation, but the flight unit can also detach independently and combine with the "High-Velocity Multi-Barrel Machine Gun" to form a ground attack drone. Furthermore, it can separate again into four smaller attack drones, allowing for the recreation of attack states with effect parts and main wing deployment mechanisms.
The "High-Velocity Multi-Barrel Machine Gun" armament can be separated from the shield part and optionally equipped on either the left or right arm. The two melee weapons, "Charged Tactical Twin Blades," can transform into a thrusting sword form or be mounted on the nose of the ground attack drone. Additionally, the set includes 6 plasma blade effect parts, which can be attached to the small attack drones, knee plasma blades, and other locations.
