James DeMonaco, the acclaimed horror director behind five "The Purge" films and a spin-off series, is set to release his latest feature, "The Home," marking his first directorial effort in four years. Lionsgate today dropped the first trailer and a new promotional poster for the film. A major draw for the upcoming thriller is the casting of comedian Pete Davidson in a rare dramatic role.

DeMonaco co-wrote the screenplay for "The Home" with Adam Cantor, who previously appeared in "The Purge: Election Year." The cast also features John Glover, Ethan Phillips, Marilee Talkington, and Bruce Altman. The film is slated for a North American theatrical release on July 25.
The official synopsis reveals Max, a rebellious twentysomething, is sentenced to community service at a quiet retirement home. He's given one strict rule: the residents on the fourth floor are off-limits, said to require "special care." As Max's suspicions about the fourth-floor residents grow, he can't help but investigate further, ultimately uncovering a chilling secret that puts both the other residents and his own life in grave danger.
