The cinematic saga of the beloved British period drama "Downton Abbey," which began in 2019, is preparing to draw to a close. The third and final film, titled "The Grand Finale," is slated for release this fall, and the studio has just unveiled the first teaser trailer.
Simon Curtis, who directed the previous installment "Downton Abbey: A New Era," returns to helm this final chapter. Series creator Julian Fellowes has once again penned the screenplay. The film is set for a September 12th release in both the UK and the US. This installment will not only conclude the movie trilogy but is confirmed to be the definitive end of the entire "Downton Abbey" franchise, with no further spin-offs planned.

Many original cast members are returning for the finale, including Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Paul Giamatti, Dominic West, and Jim Carter. New additions to the cast include Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, and Simon Russell Beale.
