BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan has officially announced today the detailed information for the latest product from 'Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans', the "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus", part of the 1/100 scale Gundam plastic model 'MG (Master Grade)' series, known for its excellent part separation, internal frame structure, and extensive articulation. The product is scheduled for release in November 2025.
The ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus is a new form of the Gundam Barbatos, refurbished by Tekkadan after fierce battles with Gjallarhorn in Edmonton. With technical support from Teiwaz, significant internal and external adjustments were made, incorporating multiple curved armor plates to reduce impact from hits and lighten the frame for improved mobility. For the "Alaya-Vijnana System," further analysis and adjustments were made based on past combat data to allow Mikazuki to achieve an even greater man-machine synchronization, thereby enhancing overall performance. In addition to the close-combat Sword Mace and small maces, 200mm cannons and rocket launchers can also be added to its arms.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus" utilizes precise part separation techniques and a rich array of molded color parts to thoroughly recreate the cool design of the mobile suit. Not only does the exterior armor feature high-density detail sculpting, but it also faithfully reproduces the internal "Gundam Frame" structure as set in the series, using dark gray, silver, and gold colors to express the frame's robust feel.
This model utilizes a Gundam Frame improved from previous MG Iron-Blooded Orphans products, with enhancements made to the multi-directional rotation of the shoulders and the forward/backward tilting angle of the waist, expanding the range of motion for the upper body. The frame also features numerous interlocking mechanisms; the hydraulic rod structures on both sides of the waist will extend and retract with the rotation of the waist joint, and the inner knee armor will also articulate when the legs bend, avoiding interference and allowing for more natural posing.
For weaponry, it includes the Sword Mace, two small maces, and the wrist-mounted 200mm cannons equipped on both arms. Furthermore, a separately sold "Dedicated Expansion Parts" product is planned for future release, which will include expansion parts such as lightning-shaped "Eye Light Effects" and "Helm-Wige Reincar's Greatsword," allowing for the recreation of Gundam Barbatos Lupus's incredibly cool appearance when facing off against the massive Mobile Armor "Hashmal."
