BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan, which offers the most comprehensive lineup of Gunpla kits that faithfully recreate their anime appearances, has officially announced today the detailed information for the latest product from the official spin-off game Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt: the "HG 1/144 Monkey Rodi (598's Unit) / Monkey Crab Rodi", scheduled for release in November 2025.
The UGY-R266C Monkey Rodi (598's Unit) is a mobile suit piloted by "598," a nameless low-ranking boy in the game. It is built with a highly rigid Rodi Frame, and its curved armor provides high defense against solid projectiles. It is also equipped with the Alaya-Vijnana System, which significantly enhances its mobility. Later, to leverage 598's expertise in high-mobility combat, the "Raco Pirates" modified this unit into the Monkey Crab Rodi, transforming its arms into Z'Gok-like claws.
The "HG 1/144 Monkey Rodi (598's Unit) / Monkey Crab Rodi" utilizes Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology to faithfully recreate the mobile suit's characteristic Rodi Frame and curved armor design. Despite its short and rounded physique, it maintains excellent posability, and the head camera can rotate to change its line of sight. Accessories include a crowbar, submachine gun, shield, and grenades, allowing for the recreation of 598's signature high-mobility combat.
By using interchangeable parts, the Monkey Rodi (598's Unit) can be converted into the Monkey Crab Rodi, recreating its distinctive large claws on both arms. The base of each of the four claw parts features independent articulation, allowing for the recreation of poses such as grabbing enemy mobile suits or deploying all four claws to fire the internal machine guns.
