While deeply immersed in the "Avatar" franchise, director James Cameron has also been actively scouting for projects beyond Pandora. He previously stated that after completing "Avatar: Fire and Ash" (the official title for "Avatar 3"), he intended to adapt Charles R. Pellegrino's book, "The Last Train From Hiroshima: The Survivors Look Back," into a film. However, it appears his priorities have recently shifted.

Cameron announced on Facebook last night that he recently acquired the film adaptation rights for a new novel titled "The Devils." The book, which was just published last month, centers on a motley crew of monsters, murderers, and practitioners of dark magic tasked with fending off man-eating elves that are terrorizing the human world. While Cameron did not confirm he would direct, he stated that his production company, Lightstorm Entertainment, secured the rights. He also revealed plans to co-write the screenplay with the original author, Joe Abercrombie. With "Avatar: Fire and Ash" nearing completion, Cameron expressed his eagerness to delve into the creative process for "The Devils."
