Japanese model toy manufacturers PLEX and ART STORM collaborated to launch the "G-SAURUS" kaiju soft vinyl figure series to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the birth of the King of the Monsters, "Godzilla." Following "Godzilla (2016)," the next release is the "Godzilla (2023) Train Biting Ver." from "Godzilla Minus One"! The suggested retail price is 27,280 JPY, scheduled for release in November 2025.
The first work in the G-SAURUS series, Godzilla (2023), makes a powerful return with a new paint application and a new head sculpt, appearing with a train in its mouth! For this "Godzilla (2023) Train Biting Ver.," the dorsal fins utilize the transparency of clear material and a sophisticated gradient brown paint application to depict Godzilla moving through rubble and dust. The head sculpt has altered its gaze and angle to recreate the scene of it glaring furiously while biting a train; the train in its mouth is detachable, with meticulous detailing evident in the teeth marks and suspended metal rods. When the train is removed, the included tail base allows for display in an aggressive, leaning-forward pose!
With a powerful size of 32 cm in total height and 35 cm in tail height, the scar details from the left eyelid to the cheek are also delicately reproduced, and details such as the rough skin texture are sculpted in three dimensions with overwhelming sculpting techniques. Furthermore, with numerous movable parts including the neck, shoulders, arms, wrists, legs, and tail, it exhibits a wide range of articulation, allowing for full enjoyment of diverse expressions.
