Following the critically acclaimed "Ghost of Tsushima," developer Sucker Punch Productions is set to launch its new PS5 exclusive, "Ghost of Yōtei," on October 2, 2025. The title received a brief mention during today's PlayStation State of Play presentation.
PlayStation officially announced that a dedicated livestream event for "Ghost of Yōtei" will be held in July, offering an in-depth look at gameplay and its evolved exploration and combat mechanics. Director Nate Fox stated that, much like its predecessor, the game's core creative philosophy is "respect for Japan," aiming to deliver an immersive historical experience.
Pre-orders for the game are now open, with three distinct editions available for players:
The Standard Edition includes the base game and pre-order bonuses. The Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $79.99, features the Serpent Armor, exclusive dyes, a horse and saddle, a katana set, a charm, and an early unlock for the Traveler's Map. The premium Collector's Edition, retailing for $249.99 and exclusive to PS Direct, includes all digital content along with physical collectibles such as a Ghost Mask, a ginkgo leaf paper sculpture, a coin game, a Japanese tsuba (sword guard), and a sash.

Additionally, pre-ordering any edition grants players seven PSN avatars featuring Atsu and the Yōtei Six, along with an exclusive in-game mask, preparing them for battle.
"Ghost of Yōtei" features an open-world design, allowing players to freely choose their path and the order in which they pursue six formidable enemies. Along the way, Atsu will forge alliances, enhance his equipment, and unlock more lethal combat abilities. The game is officially set to launch on PS5 on October 2, 2025.
