The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company has announced the latest product from the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, the "MG 1/100 Blaze Zaku Phantom (Dearka Elsman's Custom Machine)", scheduled for release in August 2025. This product, part of the highly articulated Gunpla "MG (Master Grade)" series which incorporates the latest technology and complete part separation, will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The ZGMF-1000 Zaku Warrior series served as ZAFT's main mass-produced Mobile Suit in C.E. 73. Originally, prototype machines of the "New Millennium series," powered by nuclear energy, were developed towards the end of the previous great war. However, after the signing of the Junius Treaty, the "Anti-Neutron Jammer Canceller," which circumvented nuclear energy restrictions, could not be utilized for military equipment, leading to a switch to battery-powered operation. Nevertheless, the New Millennium series still boasted exceptional performance, especially the highly versatile "ZGMF-1000 Zaku Warrior" equipped with the Wizard Pack system. It could adapt to various combat situations by switching between multiple forms such as Blaze, Gunner, and Slash. Concurrently, a slightly higher-performance advanced model, the "ZGMF-1001 Zaku Phantom," was designed for commanders and ace pilots.
The "MG 1/100 Blaze Zaku Phantom (Dearka Elsman's Custom Machine)" is based on previously released standard specifications, utilizing new molding colors to reproduce the characteristic black and gray color scheme of Dearka's custom machine. The kit also adopts a more simplified "ZAFT Frame" design. While it may not possess the same level of intricate internal detail as some past MG products, its overall articulation remains highly flexible. The power pipes are connected via ball joints, allowing them to move in conjunction with leg movements.
The weaponry is fundamentally identical to the previous standard specifications. The massive Blaze Wizard Pack on the back faithfully recreates large thrusters with opening and closing mechanisms, and it features an MG kit original missile pod deployment mechanism. Weapon accessories include shoulder-mounted shields, a Beam Assault Rifle, and a Beam Tomahawk. Furthermore, it can reproduce the "Wizard Pack system" from the setting, allowing for interchangeable weaponry with separately sold MG 1/100 Zaku Phantom / Zaku Warrior kits.
