The robot-themed action figure series "ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the commercialization of the latest mobile suit, "Asshimar", from "Mobile Suit Z Gundam". Detailed information is expected to be revealed on June 19.
The NRX-044 Asshimar is an air combat transformable Mobile Armor (MA) developed by the Earth Federation Forces' "Oakland Laboratory" between Universal Century 0083 and 0085. As one of the earliest developed models, the Asshimar, despite being considerably larger than Mobile Suits of the same period, could shorten its transformation time to 0.5 seconds thanks to magnetic coating technology in its joints. The unit also boasts heavy armor, a high-performance thermonuclear jet engine, and powerful beam weaponry. Compared to most contemporary units that relied on Sub-Flight Systems (SFS) for flight, the Asshimar could achieve a significant advantage in aerial combat on its own.
Currently, only a silhouette of the MA form of the "ROBOT魂 Asshimar ver. A.N.I.M.E." has been revealed, promoted with the phrase "Transformation Start." This suggests that this Asshimar action figure will faithfully recreate the transformation mechanism from its original design.
