Will Smith has starred in numerous beloved films, but he's also famously passed on a fair share of major projects. Smith has often admitted that he initially turned down "The Matrix" because he couldn't grasp its complex concept, opting instead for "Wild Wild West." The former became a groundbreaking blockbuster, while the latter was a critical and box office bomb, a decision Smith has openly regretted. Another well-known instance saw him decline "Django Unchained," citing discomfort with the film's violence and feeling that the titular character wasn't the true protagonist.

However, "The Matrix" and "Django Unchained" aren't the only blockbusters Smith passed on. In a recent interview, he revealed that Christopher Nolan's "Inception" was also among them. Smith recounted, "I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this, but I’m going to talk about it now because we’re (Smith and the interviewer) baring our souls. Christopher Nolan actually came to me first for 'Inception,' but I didn’t agree. I haven’t made this public; this is exclusive news. Now that I look back, 'Inception' and 'The Matrix' are both films where 'they didn’t explain the proposal well enough to me,' but missing out on them really hurts my heart."
