Japanese renowned toy company MEDICOM TOY has released its ASM (ANIMATION SOFVI MUSEUM) soft vinyl toy series, which emphasizes both nostalgic style and exquisite sculpting. Recently, they announced two new figures from "Nube: The Hell Teacher" (Jigoku Sensei Nube): "Meisuke Nueno" and "Yukime"! Pre-orders are scheduled to open on MEDICOM TOY's official website on June 24, 2025, with an estimated shipping date in December 2025. The suggested retail price for each figure is 19,800 JPY.
Jigoku Sensei Nube (Nube: The Hell Teacher) is a Japanese shonen manga series with a yokai theme, written by Sho Makura and illustrated by Takeshi Okano, which began serialization in 1993. It is undoubtedly a cherished childhood memory and a 'spicy' awakening for many toy collectors in their thirties. The story centers on the protagonist, Meisuke Nueno, who possesses spiritual powers, and the various supernatural incidents encountered by the students of Class 3, Grade 5 at Dōmori Elementary School. Beyond Nube himself, the series also features many classic human and yokai characters, including Yukime, the snow woman infatuated with Nube; Tamamo, Nube's rival fox spirit; Ritsuko-sensei, known for her alluring figure; Minako-sensei, Nube's childhood mentor; and the alluring and adorable Menki, whose abilities are all related to underwear, among others.
These ASM Nube & Yukime soft vinyl figures are once again sculpted by Japanese sculptor HaRu, referencing the 1996–1997 anime settings to create a retro silhouette highly reminiscent of 90s soft vinyl figures. They also feature exquisite and soft paint applications, evoking a strong sense of nostalgia despite being newly released toys. Nube's left hand comes with two interchangeable styles: one wearing a black glove and another revealing his "Demon Hand." Yukime's iconic blue long hair is also beautifully rendered. These are truly must-buys!
