Fifteen years after "Tron: Legacy," the third installment in the series, "Tron: Ares," is not only featuring a revamped cast and crew but also pioneering new filming techniques. Director Joachim Rønning, known for "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," takes the helm for "Ares" and recently revealed in an "Empire" magazine interview that the production developed a unique camera movement style specifically for the programs within the Grid.
Rønning explained that some shots are designed from the subjective perspective of a program. "The idea is that a program is filming another program, shot by a robot," he stated, indicating that the camera's movement patterns would differ from those typically seen in human-operated cinematography.

The screenplay for "Ares" is penned by Jesse Wigutow ("It Runs in the Family") and Jack Thorne (the "Enola Holmes" series). The film is slated for an October 10 release in North America.
"Ares" features a strong ensemble cast including Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, and returning franchise veteran Jeff Bridges. Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto takes on the titular role of Ares, a fictional program from the Grid who, like other entities, will cross over from the virtual world into reality. For the score, with Daft Punk having disbanded four years ago, Nine Inch Nails has been tapped to compose the music.
