TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., has announced the latest product in its "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS" series, "Gundam (GQ)" from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", scheduled for release in March 2026.
The RX-78-2 Gundam, appearing in "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", is a mysterious mobile suit summoned by Shuji Ito from "the other side of the world". In the countless parallel worlds created by Lalah Sune, her beloved Char always meets the fate of being killed by this white devil. Its external design deliberately closely resembles the Gundam piloted by Amuro Ray in the canonical "Mobile Suit Gundam". Upon its arrival in the GQ world, due to its anomalous existence, it continuously emits "Zekunova" reactions, and can even violate the world's natural laws to grow dozens of times in size.
The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam (GQ)" is produced with an articulated specification, standing approximately 155mm tall. Its overall design faithfully recreates the refined aesthetics of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam", imbued with the distinctive Kunio Okawara style. It also incorporates modern articulated joints and segmented designs, with embedded armor specifically placed in the elbows and knee pits. This maintains the curved surface of the overall armor during normal posture, while also allowing for a greater range of motion when the joints are bent.
In addition to the internal articulated frame, some exterior parts are also made of alloy, providing robust joint strength and a satisfying sense of weight during handling. The entire body also features a rich, heavy color application. Accessories include in-show armaments such as beam sabers and shields, multiple interchangeable hand parts, and effect parts for parrying attacks with the beam saber. These can be combined with the separately sold "GQuuuuuuX" to recreate the final battle scene.
