Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, under its "S.H.MonsterArts" articulated figure brand, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, has launched a new series, "-Movie Graphic Plus-", with two initial products. Following the "Godzilla (Fourth Form) Awakening Ver.", we are now bringing toy enthusiasts the "Godzilla (1989)" articulated figure, themed after the movie "Godzilla vs. Biollante". The suggested retail price is 13,200 JPY, with an estimated release in January 2026!
The 1989 film "Godzilla vs. Biollante" (ゴジラvsビオランテ) continues the story from the 1984 "Godzilla". The Japanese government researches Godzilla cells to create "Anti-Nuclear Bacteria" (ANB). Dr. Genichiro Shiragami, a participant in the project, seeking to preserve the soul of his daughter who died in a terrorist attack, injects her cells into a rose. These then mix with Godzilla cells, giving birth to the colossal plant monster, Biollante...
This "Godzilla (1989)" articulated figure stands approximately 16 cm tall. It is based on the "Godzilla (1989)" sculpted by popular monster sculptor Yuji Sakai, released in 2021. The coloring has been adjusted to reflect its appearance during nighttime battles in the film. The sculpting captures the rough texture of its skin and Godzilla's fierce facial expression, while the biological realism of its eyes and sharp teeth is vividly rendered through painting. Coupled with the S.H.MonsterArts articulation mechanism developed by Mitsuhiko Hosokawa, it can be posed to recreate various powerful stances! In addition to the monster figure itself, the new "-Movie Graphic Plus-" series will also include an exclusive collectible poster from "Godzilla vs. Biollante", which can be displayed alongside the figure!
