Netflix's fantasy action sequel "The Old Guard 2" is gearing up for a powerful return this Wednesday, five years after its predecessor. In recent days, the streamer has progressively unveiled individual character posters for its key players. Charlize Theron's poster led the rollout, while newcomer Uma Thurman, portraying the film's new "big villain," was saved for last.
The official synopsis states: Andy and the Old Guard reunite, driven by an unprecedented sense of purpose to protect the world. Booker is in exile after his betrayal, and Quynh, having escaped her watery prison, harbors deep resentment. Andy discovers she has lost her immortality; she must confront this reality while fighting mysterious forces to prevent her millennia of efforts from being undone. Andy, Nile, Joe, Nicky, and James Copley unite to seek assistance from their old friend Tuah, hoping he can unravel the mystery of their immortality. The film is set to premiere on Netflix on July 2nd.

"The Old Guard 2" sees Victoria Mahoney take over as director, known for helming episodes of series like "Lovecraft Country" and "You." The returning original cast members include KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Veronica Ngo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Luca Marinelli, and Marwan Kenzari. New additions to the cast feature Henry Golding as Tuah and Uma Thurman as Discord, as well as Todd Cattell. Greg Rucka, the original comic book author and screenwriter for the first film, also returns to pen the script.
