Danish toy company LEGO's LEGO Ideas series recently unveiled a new small-scale set, number 40789, the "Flying Moon Car"! Scheduled for release on July 1, 2025, LEGO Insider members can redeem it for 2500 points.
The original design for this set comes from LEGO fan EnchantingNoodle, whose creation won the GRAND PRIZE in the "Exploring The Cosmos" building contest: Vehicle: Moon Car. He used 247 pieces to create a futuristic two-seater hover vehicle traversing the lunar surface.
The officially commercialized version has a total of 211 pieces, with overall minimal changes. It retains the front design composed of window elements, primarily adjusting the colors and support structure. The scene of the Flying Moon Car's exhaust pipes spewing flames is quite romantic, and the brick-built lunar craters and road sign presentation are superb! Of course, the minifigure with special printing on its torso is also a major highlight!
