To celebrate the grand 30th anniversary of Disney Pixar's classic animated film "Toy Story" in 2025, Japanese toy giant TAKARA TOMY has specially produced a brand new Pixar-supervised short film titled "To the Far Side of Japan, Let's Go!" (日本の彼方へ、さあ行くぞ！), and simultaneously announced three new additions to their Real Size Talking Figure series: "Woody KABUTO ver.", "Buzz Lightyear NINJA ver.", and "Jessie KIMONO ver.". Let's take a look!
"To the Far Side of Japan, Let's Go!" combines live-action and stop-motion animation, with a story centered on Woody, Buzz, and Jessie embarking on a grand adventure in Japan. For toy enthusiasts, the most exciting aspect is undoubtedly the brand new designs incorporating Japanese elements! Woody is equipped with a Japanese samurai helmet and armor, Jessie dons a kimono with a milk-patterned design, and Buzz Lightyear transforms into a ninja! His Space Ranger look now integrates a ninja headband, diamond-patterned attire, and shurikens, with the overall color scheme shifting to darker tones suitable for stealth – truly awesome!
These new three-dimensional designs for Woody, Buzz, and Jessie in the Real Size Talking Figure (リアルサイズトーキングフィギュア) series retain TAKARA TOMY's greatest selling point for previous Toy Story toys: exquisite costume detailing and talking functions. All three characters are equipped with over fifty lines of dialogue, and features like removing helmets and samurai swords, deploying wings, and activating sound effects via buttons make them incredibly fun! Not to mention this new style, brimming with Japanese flavor, is truly superb. The editor personally *must* get the Buzz Lightyear Ninja!
