Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Pingtung-based tokusatsu monster prototype sculpting workshop, KATA studio, has made a name for itself in Taiwan's monster and model kit communities with its exquisite and detailed sculpting craftsmanship and lifelike, realistic paint applications. This time, they present a special limited edition piece for Burning Godzilla's 30th anniversary—the "KKS-002 Godzilla 1995 -Burning ver." pre-painted sofubi figure!
In the film "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah," a violent nuclear fission reaction caused by high-purity natural uranium in the Earth's crust leads to the instantaneous disappearance of Godzilla's home, Baas Island. Godzilla's homing instinct goes haywire, causing the nuclear energy within its body to rapidly activate. Its constantly heating, scorching skin takes on a burning, crimson state, the power of its atomic heat ray becomes even more formidable, and its body temperature approaches the critical meltdown point of 1200°C...
"A dragon! A red dragon!!"
The "KKS-002 Godzilla 1995 -Burning ver." sofubi figure is crafted in an impressive size, measuring 30 cm in length, 25 cm in width, and 25 cm in height. It reinterprets the King of the Monsters' powerful presence with a realistic, low-slung posture. The ferocious head, massive legs, giant claws, and the rough, bumpy texture of its skin are all intricately sculpted with dense detail. The set of sharp teeth further enhances its biological realism. The destructive, glaring eyes vividly convey the rage of losing its kin...
To faithfully recreate the glowing, burning state, the entire figure is made from translucent vinyl. Utilizing a multi-layered painting technique with various pigments, it creates a stunning visual effect of a scorching internal burn with a fiery red glow emanating from the surface! Possessing both translucency and depth, this is a masterpiece that allows you to feel the explosive charm of Burning Godzilla from every angle. Seeing this, collectors' wallets must be on the verge of meltdown...!
