Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE's transformable action figure series "VARIABLE ACTION" has announced its fifth product from the anime "Future GPX Cyber Formula," the "Knight Savior 005 -Livery Edition-," with a suggested retail price of 17,600 JPY, scheduled for release in January 2026!
The strongest racer, Knight Schumacher, who can drive at over 400 km/h with his eyes closed, is actually Osamu Sugo. He was a test and development driver for the Missing Link racing team, involved in the development of the Asurada system. After Hiroshi Kazami's death, to evade Smith's covetousness, he withdrew from the project, went into hiding, donned mysterious sunglasses, and entered the Future GPX Cyber Formula world under an assumed name, secretly assisting Hayato Kazami. His extraordinary driving skills earned him the title "Supersonic Knight."
The fifth installment, "Variable Action Knight Savior 005 -Livery Edition-," released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of "Future GPX Cyber Formula," faithfully recreates the classic racing car driven by the Supersonic Knight, Schumacher. Based on UNION SAVIOR's red and white color scheme, the overall paintwork has become more refined and profound, with realistic metallic finishes adding to the car's authentic texture; the various logos and patterns have been redesigned, presenting a cool appearance reminiscent of a real-life racing car!
By extending the wheelbase and folding the upper rear wing of the sensor pod, it can switch to "Sprint Mode" for high-speed driving with a lowered body for increased stability. By replacing the front wing parts and extending the rear wheel mechanism, "Off-Road Mode" can be enjoyed. The cockpit canopy can open and close, allowing enjoyment of the interior details! Additionally, it comes with a dedicated display base and an unpainted figure of the Supersonic Knight, Schumacher – truly awesome!
