Bandai Spirits' monster soft vinyl figure series 'MOVIE MONSTER' and Ultraman monster toy series 'Ultra Monster ADVANCE' have announced their first collaborative product, 'Scarf-necked Dinosaur Jirass,' from the original 'Ultraman' series, slated for release in January 2026.
The Scarf-necked Dinosaur 'Jirass' first appeared in episode 10 of the original 'Ultraman.' In the story, Professor Nikaido, the 'Monster Doctor,' discovered Jirass's egg in Loch Ness, Scotland, secretly brought it back to Japan, and raised it in Lake Kitayama. Standing approximately 45 meters tall, Jirass can unleash a million-volt heat ray from its mouth. During the original filming, Jirass was created by modifying the suit of Toho monster 'Godzilla,' essentially adding an umbrella-like frill, reminiscent of a frilled lizard, around Godzilla's neck. After Ultraman tore off its scarf, a dream-like scene of Ultraman battling Godzilla briefly unfolded.
The 'MOVIE MONSTER x Ultra Monster ADVANCE Scarf-necked Dinosaur Jirass' has undergone sculpting supervision by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department. It boasts the same 16 cm height as the 'MOVIE MONSTER' series, featuring intricate detail sculpting and paintwork, and faithfully recreates various details such as the differing focal points of its left and right pupils.
Furthermore, the product incorporates the characteristic play feature of the 'Ultra Monster ADVANCE' series: the scarf part around its neck is detachable, allowing for the recreation of its appearance after being torn off by Ultraman in the show, complete with detailed blood-red wound marks around the neck.
