Ace producer Jerry Bruckheimer, known for blockbusters like the "National Treasure" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchises, has recently been on a spree of reviving long-dormant IPs. This includes not only the critically acclaimed "Top Gun: Maverick" but also ongoing productions for "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" and the third and fourth installments of "Bad Boys."
However, Bruckheimer isn't stopping at just bringing back existing franchises; he's also looking to revisit older films that never received sequels. While promoting his upcoming film "F1," he revealed that a sequel to the Cold War submarine thriller "Crimson Tide," starring Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington, is already in the works.

In a recent interview on "The Rich Eisen Show," Bruckheimer discussed the "Crimson Tide" sequel plans. He stated, "We have a very good director-writer who's talking to the Navy about what's going on underwater. We have Denzel, and if we get a good script, I'm sure he'll do it." Bruckheimer did not disclose the identity of the director-writer. However, it's clear that the sequel is actively moving forward, with its fate hinging on the script's development and Washington's willingness to return.
