Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY's high-end brand T-SPARK, under its "SYNERGENEX" series, has officially announced the highly anticipated ZOIDS × Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration product: the "General-Purpose Beast-Type Decisive Weapon Zeno Rex Production Model Unit-02" assembly model kit! The suggested retail price is 6,600 JPY, and pre-orders are now open, with an estimated release in late February 2026.
Deep beneath Neo-Tokyo-3, spherical metallic lifeforms emitting a mysterious glow are stirring.... Discovered alongside other metallic skeletons in the deep Antarctic strata, they are now managed by the special agency NERV. Possessing the characteristic of almost infinitely continuous energy release, they have been classified as "Cores" and are planned to be used as weapons specifically for annihilating Angels. As research progressed, it was discovered that the Cores' unique pulse patterns could resonate with certain individuals of the General-Purpose Humanoid Decisive Weapon EVANGELION—thus, the combined "General-Purpose Beast-Type Decisive Weapon Zeno Rex" was born!
The EVANGELION×ZOIDS "General-Purpose Beast-Type Decisive Weapon Zeno Rex Production Model Unit-02" is a modified version based on the ZW52 Zeno Rex from Zoids Wild. The unit features Unit-02's iconic red and orange color scheme, with entirely new parts for the head and shoulders, recreating Unit-02's distinctive crown-like head design. It also includes a replaceable orange transparent head cover, which, when opened, can accommodate an entry plug or a red pilot figure, allowing for a complete immersion in the collaborative world of both major franchises!
It features a built-in electric walking mechanism, and the rich molded part colors and partially pre-painted parts enhance the faithful reproduction of the EVA unit. The shoulders incorporate EVA-style armor, which can unfold to store an electromagnetic rifle, serving as a weapon rack; the hands can also be equipped with a high-vibration particle blade, or mounted on the waist, allowing for cool armed poses! This achieves versatility capable of performing various missions.
