Japan's toy company TAKARA TOMY's high-end brand T-SPARK, under its "SYNERGENEX" series, has officially announced the highly anticipated collaboration product between "ZOIDS" and "Neon Genesis Evangelion": the "Universal Beast-Type Decisive Weapon Zeno Rex Test Type-01" model kit! The suggested retail price is 6,600 Japanese Yen, and pre-orders are now open, with an estimated release in late February 2026.
Deep beneath Neo-Tokyo-3, spherical metallic lifeforms emitting a mysterious glow are stirring.... They were excavated alongside other metallic skeletons from the deep Antarctic strata and are now managed by the special agency NERV. Possessing the characteristic of continuously releasing almost infinite energy, they are classified as "Cores" and are planned to be used as weapons to eliminate Angels. As research progressed, it was discovered that the Cores' unique pulse patterns could resonate with certain units of the Universal Humanoid Decisive Weapon EVANGELION—thus, the combined "Universal Beast-Type Decisive Weapon Zeno Rex" was born!
The EVANGELION×ZOIDS "Universal Beast-Type Decisive Weapon Zeno Rex Test Type-01" is a modified version based on the ZW52 Zeno Rex from "Zoids Wild Blast". The unit features the impressive purple and fluorescent green color scheme of Unit-01. The head and shoulders utilize completely new parts, recreating characteristic features such as the horn on the head and the extra-long jaw. It also includes a replaceable black transparent head cover, which, when opened, can accommodate an entry plug or a melancholic blue pilot figure, allowing for a complete immersion in the collaborative world of these two major franchises!
It features a built-in motorized walking mechanism, and the rich molded part colors and partially pre-painted parts enhance the recreation of the EVA unit. The shoulders incorporate EVA armor styling and can be deployed to store equipment such as electromagnetic rifles or high-vibration particle blades, serving as weapon racks; alternatively, they can be attached to the hands and waist to enjoy cool armed poses; it can also open its mouth to recreate the roaring berserk state during battle!
