Veteran American actor Michael Madsen passed away this morning at the age of 67. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Madsen died of natural causes from cardiac arrest at his home.
Madsen was a renowned Hollywood character actor, specializing in crime and action films where he often played killers, detectives, or gangsters, cultivating a distinct on-screen persona. He was most widely known for his long-standing friendship and collaboration with director Quentin Tarantino, starring in films such as "Reservoir Dogs," the "Kill Bill" franchise, and "The Hateful Eight." He also made a cameo in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," cementing his status as a staple in Tarantino's filmography.
Following the news of Madsen's death, many of his peers and collaborators took to social media to pay tribute. Even the New Beverly Cinema, the theater owned by Tarantino, shared the news on its social media platforms.

Madsen's sister, actress Virginia Madsen—known for her roles in films like "Dune" and "Candyman"—also posted a tribute to her brother. "I will miss our inside jokes, the sudden laughter, and the sound of his voice," she wrote. "I will miss the boy he was before he became a screen legend. I miss my brother."
