Marvel Comics and DC Comics are teaming up for the highly anticipated "Deadpool/Batman" crossover event, set to officially release on September 17, 2025. The publishers recently unveiled a slew of variant covers and the initial plot synopsis, setting the stage for Deadpool's first direct confrontation with Batman. This collaborative comic has garnered significant attention since its announcement, and the newly revealed covers and details have further ignited fan discussions.
The series features a main story penned by Zeb Wells, with art by "Batman" veteran Greg Capullo. It also includes several backup stories from renowned creators such as Kevin Smith, Kelly Thompson, and Chip Zdarsky. In addition to the primary narrative, three variant covers by Mark Bagley, Ryan Stegman, and Skottie Young were simultaneously revealed.

All three covers highlight the dynamic of opposition and cooperation between Deadpool and Batman. Bagley's metallic-finish cover depicts the duo teaming up against Gotham's "Clown Prince of Crime," the Joker. Stegman's variant pays homage to the classic "The Incredible Hulk" #340 cover, reimagining the iconic pose with Deadpool and Batman. Skottie Young brings his signature chibi art style to interpret this historic Crossover.
The plot synopsis reveals that Deadpool is hired for a mission in Gotham City, only to find himself at odds with Batman. Can the fourth-wall-breaking mercenary earn the Dark Knight's trust, or will he ultimately be kicked out? Writer Zeb Wells commented, "Batman has even less tolerance for Deadpool's antics than Wolverine does, but when the Joker appears, even Batman has to consider an alliance."
"Deadpool/Batman" #1 is slated for release on September 17, with more details to be unveiled progressively.
