Two years after his critically acclaimed and commercially successful directorial debut with "Creed III," Michael B. Jordan is not only confirmed to return to direct and star in a fourth installment of the boxing franchise, but he's also gearing up for his second directorial effort: a new take on the classic MGM crime thriller, "The Thomas Crown Affair." The project has recently begun unveiling its impressive cast.
The new iteration of "The Thomas Crown Affair" has assembled a formidable cast, including Kenneth Branagh, director of the first "Thor" film; Golden Globe winner Lily Gladstone; Danai Gurira, who co-starred with Jordan in the "Black Panther" franchise as Okoye; and Danish actor Pilou Asbæk. Originally, Canadian actress Taylor Russell, known for "Bones & All," was set to play the female lead but departed due to creative differences. Today, it was announced that Adria Arjona, whose star has risen recently with roles in the series "Andor" and the film "Hit Man," will take over the role.
The latest draft of the script was penned by Drew Pearce, co-writer of "Iron Man 3." Production is currently underway in London, with a theatrical release slated for March 5, 2027.
