Hong Kong model manufacturer YOLOPARK's "AMK PRO" series, a line of high-quality pre-painted assembly model kits partially constructed with alloy, is launching its first product based on the movie Transformers: Bumblebee—the "Soundwave" pre-painted alloy assembly model kit. It has a suggested retail price of US$59.99 and is expected to be released in Q3 2025!
Soundwave is one of the characters from the first wave of Transformers toys, launched by Hasbro in 1984, inspired by the Micro Change series developed by Japan's TAKARA Company and commissioned by Marvel Comics. In the original series, he was "Cassette Man," with an alternate mode of a cassette recorder. In the G1 animation, Soundwave could deploy cassette warriors from his opened chest and read minds by scanning and decoding electrical signals in the brains of organic lifeforms and Cybertronians. He was one of the earliest Decepticon members, a master of espionage, and one of Megatron's most reliable subordinates!
In the opening scene of the movie Transformers: Bumblebee, Soundwave appeared alongside Starscream, Shockwave, and others during the war on Cybertron, issuing the command "Decepticons, attack!" The scene, though brief, was incredibly impactful! This AMK PRO Soundwave brings his G1-inspired design from the movie to life in three dimensions. It features an independent internal frame complemented by outer armor parts, including 17 alloy components, allowing for assembly in simple steps. The completed figure stands approximately 20 cm tall and boasts around 40 points of articulation throughout its body. Its eyes feature magnetic LED light-up functionality. While it does not possess a transformation gimmick, its sculpt is precise and exquisitely detailed, and the excellent pre-painting technique perfectly captures the weathered blue and white paintwork visual effect on his body!
Accessories include a laser cannon, a concussion blaster, a pair of articulated hands, and three sets of interchangeable hands, allowing for stable posing in various dynamic and cool stances, thanks to the alloy and POM material internal frame! Furthermore, it also includes his loyal cassette warrior Ravage, featuring 20 points of articulation throughout its body, accurately capturing its appearance from the movie. Ravage's alternate cassette mode is also included, allowing for display alongside Soundwave!
