The 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits and produced by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., has announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash," the "HG 1/144 Messer F02 Type Mine Layer Equipment," scheduled for release in August 2025.
The Me02R Messer is a heavily armored mobile suit redesigned and developed by Anaheim Electronics based on the "AMS-119 Geara Doga." It inherits characteristic Zeon-style designs such as a mono-eye camera and spiked armor. It is basically equipped with a beam rifle, beam sabers, a shield, and other armaments, offering high versatility. In "Hathaway's Flash," it plays an active role as the main mobile suit of the anti-government organization "Mafty Navue Erin." There is also the standard F01 type, and the F02 type which has additional leg units to extend its hover-walking time.
The "HG 1/144 Messer F02 Type Mine Layer Equipment" is a modification of the previously released F02 type kit. It uses new parts to recreate the four mine layer units mounted on the rear skirt. It also includes interchangeable head parts for both standard and commander specifications. The distinctive rear skirt faithfully reproduces the in-show design, capable of deploying outwards and backwards via internal movable supports.
Other specifications are the same as the regular version. The kit recreates its heavy mobile suit silhouette with thick armor parts. The torso and limbs feature multi-axis movable designs, providing excellent articulation. The backpack's thrusters and outer armor can be deployed and swung. Armaments include a beam rifle, two beam sabers, a shield, and more.
