Hasbro, the toy giant behind live-action adaptations like "Transformers," "G.I. Joe," and "Clue," is now adding "My Little Pony" to its growing slate of big-screen projects. Renowned entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider first reported on his blog, The InSneider, that a live-action "My Little Pony" feature film is officially in development.

While the "My Little Pony" franchise boasts a rich history of animated works, this marks its inaugural foray into live-action. Sneider emphasized that the project is currently in early internal development, with no writers, directors, or voice actors officially attached. The studios spearheading this initiative are Amazon and its subsidiary, MGM. Sneider speculates that the "real horse" aesthetic for the ponies might lean towards the photorealistic style seen in Disney's "The Lion King" remake, rather than the more cartoon-like designs of films such as "Sonic the Hedgehog."
