Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Details Revealed: Self-Driving, Delamain Taxis, and New Vehicles Headed to Night City

CD Projekt has announced that "Cyberpunk 2077" will receive its 2.3 update on July 17, 2025, launching first on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 players, however, will need to wait longer as that version is still being optimized, with the developer only stating it will arrive "at a later date" without a specific timeline.

This update primarily focuses on "vehicle gameplay and customization," introducing three new cars and a motorcycle. Notably, it marks the debut of customizable motorcycle models. All new vehicles can be unlocked via straightforward side missions; while these won't count towards achievements, their activation will be intuitive, ensuring players can easily access the new content.

A highly anticipated self-driving system is also making its official debut. Players will be able to set a destination and have their vehicle navigate autonomously, adhering to traffic laws like traffic lights. Should combat erupt, the self-driving mode will automatically disengage. Additionally, the update introduces a "free roam mode," allowing vehicles to wander endlessly through Night City, offering a more spontaneous exploration experience.

The in-game Delamain AI taxi service will also integrate self-driving capabilities, enabling players to traverse Night City without needing to drive themselves. Complementing this are new cinematic camera perspectives and an enhanced photo mode, allowing players to capture more dynamic urban vistas while cruising. The 2.3 update for photo mode includes new time and weather manipulation options, 27 additional NPCs, more protagonist outfits, and natural character animations. CD Projekt has also hinted at an upcoming photography contest.

On the technical front, the PC version will gain support for AMD FSR 3.1, with a future update to FSR 4 already planned. HDR10+ gaming functionality is now officially supported, and console players can look forward to VRR updates.

Furthermore, CD Projekt has confirmed that the macOS version of "Cyberpunk 2077" will launch concurrently with the 2.3 update. Overall, Patch 2.3 is poised to significantly enhance driving and exploration, delivering a more personalized and immersive experience for players in Night City.
