Two years ago, Will Ferrell and Ryan Gosling shared the screen in the live-action "Barbie" movie, playing Mattel CEO and Ken, respectively. However, their characters had limited interactions. That's about to change, as the duo is set to officially co-star in the upcoming action-comedy "Tough Guys," produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

According to Deadline, "Tough Guys" centers on two low-level mobsters who are fed up with the criminal underworld and decide to go straight, seeking a new life on their own terms. Ferrell and Gosling are expected to portray these two characters. Both actors will also serve as producers on the film; Gosling through his company Open Invite Entertainment, and Ferrell via his banner Gloria Sanchez Productions.
"Tough Guys" is based on a spec script written by actor Daniel Gold. A director for the project has not yet been announced.
