The first film in the rebooted DC Universe, "Superman," recently hit theaters, and while its two post-credits scenes sparked discussion, many viewers were left confused or even disappointed as they didn't reveal the expected future plot directions.
However, director James Gunn recently clarified the intent behind the scenes, revealing that the DCU is set to experience a major event centered around a mysterious character.
In an interview with "Screen Rant," Gunn emphasized that he deliberately avoided including direct plot teases in the post-credits scenes because he didn't want to make promises he couldn't keep. He stated that he didn't want audiences to anticipate content that might ultimately not materialize.

In one of the post-credits scenes, Superman and Mister Terrific stand before a building in Metropolis being repaired by T-Spheres. After a brief exchange, Superman self-deprecatingly remarks, "Sometimes I really am a jerk." This seemingly lighthearted moment unexpectedly became a major talking point among viewers.
However, Gunn's more intriguing comments revolved around an upcoming "DCU major event." He indicated that this event would focus on "a character everyone has already seen, but absolutely wouldn't guess is the protagonist." He added, "It won't be the character you think it is, nor the one you'd guess, but once you watch 'Peacemaker' Season 2, you'll have a better sense of the overall direction and a slight idea of what might happen next."
This has led fans to eagerly speculate about the central character. Some believe it could be Peacemaker himself, while others guess it might be a previously introduced supporting character, such as Mister Terrific, Jimmy Olsen, or even Batman, who made a brief appearance in an animated series.
