DC Comics has announced a major new phase for its publishing line, the "Absolute Universe," set to officially launch this October. Headlining this initiative is the brand-new series "Absolute Evil," which the publisher emphasizes will mark a pivotal turning point for the entire DC continuity.
Issue #1 of "Absolute Evil" is penned by acclaimed writer Al Ewing, with art by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Nesi. The series will focus on the rise of malevolent forces within the "Absolute Universe."
For the first time, iconic villains such as Ra’s al Ghul, Veronica Cale, Hector Hammond, Elenore Thawne, and the Joker will form a united front, working together to reshape the very fabric of the DC Universe.
DC also teased the introduction of two brand-new characters in this issue, promising they will profoundly impact the overall direction of the "Absolute Universe" in its second year. This makes "Absolute Evil" an essential read for fans.
Beyond "Absolute Evil," DC has simultaneously previewed several "Absolute Universe" titles slated for release throughout October. On October 1, "Absolute Superman" #12 will hit shelves, written by Jason Aaron, alongside "Absolute Green Lantern" #7, penned by Al Ewing.
October 8 will see the release of "Absolute Flash" #8 and "Absolute Batman" #13, which will officially introduce "Absolute Catwoman."
On October 22, Kelly Thompson's "Absolute Wonder Woman" #13 will be available. The month concludes on October 29 with "Absolute Batman 2025 Annual" #1, featuring multiple creators contributing various short stories.
"Absolute Evil" is scheduled for release on October 1, 2025, kicking off a dark new chapter for DC's "Absolute Universe."
