Hideo Kojima's highly anticipated sequel, "Death Stranding 2: On the Beach," is set to make a powerful debut in 2025. Protagonist "Sam Porter Bridges" embarks on another solitary journey, this time with the stage spanning the post-apocalyptic Australian continent. Today (23rd), Hot Toys officially announced the 1/6th scale "Sam" collectible figure from the game, exquisitely recreating Norman Reedus' in-game appearance and new equipment. With its usual high level of accuracy, it is sure to ignite a new wave of collecting enthusiasm! A total of three versions will be released: Regular Version, Deluxe Version, and Artisan Edition Deluxe Version.
Flawless Basic Recreation! Standard Configuration Fully Retained
The Deluxe Version Sam figure maintains its 1/6th scale (approximately 31 cm tall) and features a newly sculpted head with rolling eyeballs, meticulously recreating Norman Reedus' resolute appearance in the game. The costume adopts the Drawbridge armor suit with UV reflective effects, complete with a full-body harness system, detachable Battle Skeleton, back armor, Odradek scanner, and delivery boots. The entire figure is treated with weathering effects, bringing to life Sam's weathered look.
Weapons and equipment are also fully included, such as the Strand rope, machine gun, LW Lv2 assault rifle, and a foldable Blood Boomerang. Additionally, there are large and medium-sized cargo containers that can be freely loaded, multiple magnetic backpack accessories, and body-mounted accessories, allowing for a myriad of posing options for Sam's figure.
Deluxe Upgrade Highlights! Exclusive Surprises Only in the Deluxe Version
The most anticipated upgrade for this Deluxe Version is undoubtedly the "LED Light-Up Diorama Base"! The base is designed in the style of the "APAS 4000" featured in "Death Stranding 2." It not only serves as a display platform but also creates the dramatic atmosphere of the in-game decisive battles through its built-in LEDs, offering significant visual impact and collector's value.
In addition to the originally equipped folded Blood Boomerang, this version also includes an "unfolded state" Blood Boomerang, enhancing details and adding more dynamism to the display. What will surely bring a smile to players' faces is that the Deluxe Version exclusively includes two "rubber pizzas," paying homage to the popular "Pizza-Do" meme from the original game – a must-have for loyal fans! The cargo section also adds "damaged cargo containers," which not only recreate the arduous delivery missions from the game but also enhance the narrative tension of the display.
Packed with Exclusive Details, All Sentimental Equipment Retained
Like the Regular Version, the Deluxe Version also comes with a BB Pod (including two states of outer shells), an Electrobiote charm, and a BB-exclusive amulet. Dollman doll, weapon accessories, magnetic equipment, tool pouch, grenade pouch, spare magazines, and canteen are all included, making the overall display details even richer! Furthermore, the Special Edition sold in specific markets will include an additional metal "Death Stranding 2" collectible card with a display case, elevating this release to a truly "fully equipped Sam."
If you're already captivated by the details and accuracy of the Regular Version, then this "Death Stranding 2: On the Beach" Sam "Deluxe Version" is undoubtedly a tailor-made collector's choice for serious players. From the LED diorama, special boomerangs, damaged cargo containers, to the humorous pizzas, these upgraded elements not only extend the gaming experience but also imbue the collectible with character depth and sentimental value. Whether you're a long-time Hot Toys fan or a loyal Porter following Sam's footsteps, this Deluxe Version is worth "building a bridge" for and bringing into your display cabinet!
