HI-METAL R Macross Zero "Phoenix (Roy Focker Custom) + Ghost" New Armaments Recreate Final Battle Specifications!

BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, based in Japan, has announced the latest product from the transforming alloy model series『HI-METAL R』, the「VF-0S Phoenix (Roy Focker Custom) + QF-2200D-B Ghost」from Macross Zero, slated for release in January 2026.

The VF-0 Phoenix was a prototype developed by the U.N. Spacy during the development of the variable fighter "VF-1 Valkyrie". Initially, it was only for testing and lacked combat capabilities. However, during the Unification Wars, the Anti-U.N. Alliance deployed the SV-51 into combat first, forcing the U.N. Spacy to urgently convert the Phoenix into a combat-ready specification. Despite the Phoenix still having numerous unaddressed flaws and the small-scale nuclear fusion engine for space operation not yet being fully developed, renowned pilots such as Shin Kudo and Roy Focker still piloted this machine to counter the attacking SV-51s.

The 「HI-METAL R VF-0S Phoenix (Roy Focker Custom) + QF-2200D-B Ghost」 is an updated version of the VF-0S Phoenix released in 2022. It adds the "QF-2200D-B Ghost" drone armament, along with luxurious weapon accessories such as an 8-tube universal micro-missile launcher and medium-range mobile missile pods, recreating its ultimate specifications from the final battle.

The VF-0S Phoenix main unit features plastic exterior parts and a partial die-cast alloy frame. Through interchangeable main wings and other parts, its transformation mechanism allows it to recreate its three forms: FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID. The exterior of the fuselage boasts rich detailed sculpting, color application, and tampo printing, faithfully reproducing the skull markings on the tail fins and other areas.

In FIGHTER mode, the cockpit canopy uses clear parts with an IRIS coating to achieve a realistic polarized texture, while the landing gear can be reproduced via interchangeable parts. The BATTROID mode stands approximately 14 cm tall, with flexible articulation in all joints, allowing it to hold the GUNPOD and be posed in combat stances.

The newly added Ghost drone, 8-tube universal micro-missile launcher, and medium-range mobile missile pods can be mounted on the back and main wings in all three forms. The Ghost's thruster nozzles can be adjusted via ball joints, allowing for dynamic flight poses that showcase its enhanced acceleration performance with the Ghost's thrust.
