Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, under its robot action figure brand "ROBOT Damashii," is releasing a new product in the "SIDE SUPER" series based on the classic mecha anime "UFO Robot Grendizer" – the "Grendizer" (グレンダイザー) action figure. The suggested retail price is 10,450 JPY, with an anticipated release in February 2026!
"UFO Robot Grendizer" (UFOロボ グレンダイザー), which began airing in 1975, is the third installment in the "Mazinger Series" co-planned by Go Nagai and Toei Animation. It tells the story of Duke Fleed, an alien prince disguised as Daisuke Umon, who pilots the giant robot Grendizer to resist the "Vega Alliance Army" intent on conquering and ruling the universe.
This SIDE SUPER Grendizer is a special release commemorating the 50th anniversary of "UFO Robot Grendizer." The main body stands approximately 16 cm tall, with Kazuhiro Ochi serving as the prototype supervisor, meticulously sculpting to recreate Go Nagai-sensei's original mechanical design! The chest armor, inspired by the finishing move "Anti-Gravity Storm" (反重力ストーム), features a translucent material. The arm armor has rotational articulation, allowing for the recreation of the "Screw Crusher Punch" (スクリュークラッシャーパンチ) launch with interchangeable parts. The blades on the shoulders can be detached and assembled into the Double Harken (ダブルハーケン), and just like in the show, they can be combined into a single double-bladed long weapon! In addition to weapons, the accessories include two sets of interchangeable hands. By removing the square cover on Grendizer's back, it can also be securely displayed with a TAMASHII STAGE series stand, allowing for the recreation of various cool dynamic poses!
