The highly anticipated video game epic "Elden Ring," a collaboration between fantasy novelist George R.R. Martin and game creator Hidetaka Miyazaki, was announced two months ago to be in development as a live-action film. British actor Kit Connor, known for "Heartstopper," and Ben Whishaw, who plays Q in the James Bond series, were quickly confirmed to star. Today, acclaimed entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider revealed the first female cast member joining the project on his paid blog, The InSneider.

Sneider reported that Venice Film Festival Best Actress winner Cailee Spaeny, whose talent has garnered significant recognition in recent years, is currently in talks to join the live-action "Elden Ring." This would mark her third collaboration with the film's director, Alex Garland, following their work together on "Civil War" and the limited series "Devs."

The live-action "Elden Ring" film is being produced by A24, with Martin also involved as a producer. A release date has not yet been set.
