Japanese model manufacturer X-PLUS has announced the latest product from the tokusatsu film "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion", the "Soldier Legion 1/700 Scale Plastic Model", slated for release in October 2025.
In the film, the formidable enemy "Legion", which confronts Gamera, is a "silicon-based mechanical lifeform" that descended to Earth with a meteorite. Its appearance resembles terrestrial arthropods. Its carapace can reflect electromagnetic waves, and its joints utilize high-pressure oxygen for movement. It possesses immense reproductive capabilities, with the Queen Legion capable of producing hundreds of "Soldier Legions", each approximately 1 to 2 meters tall. The Queen Legion itself boasts an impressive length of 160 meters, with 10 sharp interference wave claws on its head that can emit various electromagnetic waves, neutralizing Gamera's fireballs. Furthermore, it can spread its large horns on either side of its mouth to converge microwaves and unleash a powerful beam.
The "Soldier Legion 1/700 Scale Plastic Model" set includes a total of 500 Soldier Legion figures. Each Soldier Legion is composed of a single part, with its silhouette crafted at a miniature size of approximately 5mm in length. While the detailed sculpting may be somewhat indistinct, the terrifying collective formed by 500 units at once is incredibly impactful, allowing collectors to recreate classic scenes from the film, such as the swarm covering Gamera's body or the entire group being ensnared by an electric net!
