At the recent 2025 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), Marvel Comics officially announced a brand-new crossover collaboration with the classic sci-fi horror franchise "Alien." The partnership will launch a four-issue limited comic series, "Alien vs. Captain America," with its first issue slated for release on November 5, 2025.
Penned by acclaimed writer Frank Tieri and illustrated by artist Stefano Raffaele, this series marks another major crossover following "Aliens vs. Avengers."
The story plunges readers back into Steve Rogers' campaigns during World War II. According to the official synopsis, Hydra, desperate to turn the tide of war, dispatches Baron Strucker to the Himalayas in search of the legendary city of Attilan. Instead, he stumbles upon a mysterious ruin, unleashing the ultimate extraterrestrial killing machines: the Xenomorphs. Captain America and the Howling Commandos must confront this new threat, engaging in a bloody battle across war-torn Europe.
"This is the kind of project you have to pinch yourself to believe you're a part of," Tieri stated. "Captain America, the ultimate hero embodying justice, facing off against the most terrifying alien creature in history—for me, it's a dream come true."
He also revealed that the WWII setting was decided early in the pitching process. This not only extends Captain America's Golden Age background but also provides rich narrative elements, including Red Skull's machinations, Strucker's quest for Attilan, Bucky's combat interactions with the Commandos, and Hydra's efforts to weaponize the Xenomorphs.
"Alien vs. Captain America" #1 will feature a main cover by Leinil Francis Yu, alongside a gleaming foil variant cover designed by Dan Panosian.
