Akiva Schaffer, director of the "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers" film, is set to direct this latest installment. The script was co-written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, who also penned "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers." Liam Neeson will take on the role of the son of the late Leslie Nielsen's iconic character, who starred in the previous three films. Seth MacFarlane, who previously directed Neeson in "Ted 2" and "A Million Ways to Die in the West," is on board as a producer.

The film's cast also features Kevin Durand, Liza Koshy, Danny Huston, Paul Walter Hauser, Pamela Anderson, and rapper Busta Rhymes. It is scheduled to premiere in North America on August 1.
