Some fans may recall that three years ago, rumors circulated about a sequel to the romantic comedy "The Holiday," with plans to reunite original stars Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, and Jack Black. However, both Winslet and original director Nancy Meyers later debunked these claims, clarifying they were false.
While the sequel plans proved to be a misunderstanding, it appears a studio genuinely intends to dust off "The Holiday" from its archives. However, it's not a continuation, but a complete remake.

Deadline reports today that Apple TV+ is developing a limited series adaptation of "The Holiday." Krissie Ducker, known for her writing on "Catastrophe," is set to pen the script and serve as executive producer. Rob Delaney, who starred in "Catastrophe" and will appear in the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine," has also joined the project as a consultant. Meyers, the original film's writer and director, is not involved in this new production.
The original movie famously cast Diaz and Winslet as its female leads, and the series is reportedly aiming for a similar casting approach, seeking well-known actresses to front the project.
