World-renowned Hong Kong toy company Hot Toys yesterday (7th) announced a new product from the legendary DC comic masterpiece "Batman: The Killing Joke": the "Joker" 1/6th scale collectible figure! It is expected to ship from Q3 to Q4 2026, with a suggested retail price of HKD 1,630.
Published in 1988, "Batman: The Killing Joke" was written by comic author Alan Moore, with Brian Bolland responsible for the artwork and Richard Starkings for the lettering. This work is not only a great short story with profound influence on later generations, but its artistic style is also extremely captivating. It also reveals one of the most classic origins of Gotham City's Clown Prince of Crime, "The Joker": a failed comedian who, in a short period, suffered the double blow of his wife's death and falling into a chemical vat, disfiguring him. Upon seeing his pale skin and green hair, the man instantly collapsed into maniacal laughter, transforming from then on into the terrifying criminal, The Joker.
This time, Hot Toys presents a dual head sculpt lineup, striving to thoroughly recreate The Joker's classic demeanor from the comic, including the iconic smile with his left eye closed from the comic cover and the chilling maniacal laugh. The magnetic tongue accessory further enhances the versatility of the maniacal laugh head sculpt. With articulated eyeballs, wild green curly hair, and a wearable light brown hat, it showcases a rich variety of looks! The tailor-made purple overcoat and suit jacket feature bendable wires internally, and the suit trousers meticulously display the pressed crease treatment. Paired with an orange-yellow vest, shirt, and green ribbon, the attention to detail is exceptional.
Accessories include a cane, a vintage-style camera, a pistol, a "CLICK CLICK CLICK" flag that can be attached to the gun barrel, a knife, a joker card, and interchangeable hands wearing purple gloves. The base can also be paired with a "Batman: The Killing Joke" comic cover backdrop, making for a truly delightful display!
