Japanese model manufacturer Megahouse has announced the latest product in its "Mobile Suit Gundam" articulated soldier figure series, "G.M.G. (Gundam Military Generation)": the "G.M.G. COLLECTION 09 Amuro Ray Normal Suit Ver.", scheduled for release in late December 2025.
The 15-year-old protagonist of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam," Amuro Ray, was separated from his mother at a young age and immigrated to space with his father, eventually settling in the colony SIDE 7. Due to his father's busy work schedule, he was often alone at home and gradually became accustomed to studying computers and mechanical knowledge by himself. As his father's newly developed mobile suit "Gundam" was sent to SIDE 7 for testing, and Zeon forces infiltrated for reconnaissance and destruction, Amuro piloted the Gundam amidst the chaos, shooting down a Zeon Zaku. He then boarded the battleship "White Base" with civilians to evacuate to space. As the only member on board capable of piloting the Gundam, he was thus drawn into the war, facing life and death amidst relentless gunfire. This forced him to rapidly mature from an introverted, rebellious youth, and his latent Newtype abilities gradually began to manifest.
The "G.M.G. COLLECTION 09 Amuro Ray Normal Suit Ver." features an articulated specification with a total height of approximately 10 cm, recreating Amuro in his Earth Federation Forces normal suit. Color painting is used to reproduce the color blocks and lines on the suit, and it boasts a flexible articulated joint design. Through interchangeable parts, it can recreate poses with the head visor merely open, the helmet completely removed, or holding the helmet. The accessories also include various interchangeable hand parts, a handgun, a holster that hangs on the belt, and an ammo pouch, among other usable accessories, allowing you to pose him in combat stances when not in a mobile suit.
