The classic literary masterpiece "Frankenstein," which has been adapted countless times, has suddenly become a hot property again in recent years. Netflix is set to release an all-new adaptation later this year, directed and written by award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. Warner Bros. Pictures has also scheduled "The Bride", starring Christian Bale, for release on March 6 next year, while Universal Pictures is developing a modern-day, Black-led version.

However, interest isn't limited to Hollywood; filmmakers from other countries are also keen. Recently, Romanian director Radu Jude, known for "Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World," unexpectedly revealed in an interview that he is conceptualizing a "Frankenstein" film set 20 years ago, with the main stage being a CIA black site prison in Romania.
Jude also mentioned that he has shared the idea with fellow Romanian-born actor Sebastian Stan, a Berlin Film Festival Best Actor winner, who previously reached out to him about a potential collaboration. Jude stated that when Stan first contacted him, he hadn't yet conceived of a story they could work on together. It was only later, after developing the idea, that he pitched it to Stan, who agreed to join. However, Jude admitted that he has not yet written the script and will need some time to complete it.
